Dynadot Web Hosting Email Access

Web Hosting Customers:
Check Your Email From...Wherever!

Here at Dynadot, we like to make your life easier. That's why we use POP (Post Office Protocol) and SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) support, so you can choose to check your email from your browser or you can set it up with an email client. Both our Basic Web Hosting and Advanced Web Hosting options come with the ability to set up custom email addresses such as [email protected]. You can easily set up new emails and access all of your email accounts in our basic hosting control panel or in cPanel for our advanced hosting customers (see links to instructions below), but we have also given you the freedom to access your email through applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, your mobile device, and more!

For basic hosting, you'll need to access your POP3 or SMTP settings in your Dynadot account to configure your email client software. Once you've enabled remote access, your email can be accessed by POP and SMTP. This will enable you to set up your email with the email client of your choice. If you are planning to set up your basic hosting email to work with your Gmail account, we have specific instructions on how to do so in our help files.

For advanced hosting, you can use our auto-configure for Microsoft Outlook Express and Mac Mail.app by signing into your cPanel account and following these instructions on configuring a mail client to work with advanced hosting. If you'd like to use Gmail, you can use the information in the Manual Settings section (it's on the same page as the auto-configure setup) and these instructions on setting up your advanced hosting email to work with your Gmail account.

Are you a smartphone user? You can set up access to your email from your Droid or iPhone, and now from your iPad too! See below for links to instructions to set up your email for mobile access.

I'm getting an error message from my Outlook 2010 when trying to set up e-mail "Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing(SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this . . . Do you have any idea of what might cause this? I've tried everything I can find in the blogs and help files.

It looks like you have a few domains with us. Which domain is having the issue? We noticed that one of your domains is set to our advanced hosting service, but you haven't actually ordered advanced hosting, so that could be the problem. If it's a different domain, then we recommend sending screenshots of your settings to [email protected]. Make sure to include the domain name you're having issues with in your email.

How do I upgrade from Basic hosting to Advanced Hosting with cPanel?

Since they are separate products, we can't do an upgrade. However, since you only recently ordered basic hosting from us, we can cancel it (our policy is within 30 days) and then you can order our advanced hosting instead. You would just need to email us with a cancellation request to [email protected]. Make sure to include the domains associated with your basic hosting and if you can, the original order #.
