Gmail MX records
3/2/2007 10:05
I input the MX records to use Google Apps for domains to use Gmail for my domain, but it says I need an IP.

I do not have normal hosting, I simply bought the domain just to have mail on it using googles service.

Could not set DNS:

   * You must enter an ip address for the domain.

So, what do I enter for the IP address?

Thanks.

As far as I know, to get an IP address you need to buy hosting. Dyna Dot does not have free email. NetFirms has a sale on domains currently for $5 each, transfers are included.

NetFirms email is free with the domain name and very easy to use. But, the customer service and hosting prices are better at Dyna Dot. You can't have everything.

If you don't need a working website, you can use "127.0.0.1". That IP would point a visitor back to their own computer when viewing your domain.
