If you purchase an Expired domain through our Expired Auctions page then there would be no extra charge for renew. You will be able to see how long the domain will be registered for by looking up a Whois (https://www.whois.net/) on the domain name and looking for the "Registry Expiry Date". Please let us know if this has answered your question.

Usually the domain will be released again after Renewal Grace Period + Restore Period + Deletion Grace Period. For example .com, it is 75 days (Grace Period + Restore Period + Deletion Grace Period) after the expiration date. You can find Grace Period, Restore Period, Deletion Grace Period at the DOMAIN INFORMATION section on this page: https://www.dynadot.com/domain/com.html
