Smart folders give you a way to group your domains. With our smart domain folders, you can more easily set Whois records, name server settings, renew options, and transfer locks for a group of domains. How do I create a smart folder? How do I move domains in and out of smart folders?
Smart folders can help you organize your domains and easily change settings for multiple domains at once. To create a smart folder, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Folders" in the drop-down. Click on the "New Folder" button to create a new folder. Enter the folder name in the provided field. To set or change the default Whois for a smart folder, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Folders" in the drop-down. Click on the blue link under the "Contact Info" column. You will need to unlock your account first. The default settings will show as "None" if not set. Click on it to set folder contacts. Use the down arrow beside each line and choose the contact record from the drop-down options. Press the "Save" or "Save and Apply to All Domains" button to save your changes. Saving this Whois information for your folder will not affect the domains in the folder unless you choose to "Save and Apply to All Domains". How do I create a smart folder? To set or change your default name server settings for a smart folder, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Folders" in the drop-down. Click on the link listed in the "DNS" column. Choose "Name Servers" from the dropdown in the "Folder DNS Settings" page. You can either enter the name servers or select from your saved name servers in use. You can choose to enter name servers, set your domains to parking, forwarding, or stealth forwarding, set your domain to Dynadot Email Hosting, specify DNS records, or set up email forwarding. Choose your name server settings and save them. Saving the name servers for your folder will not affect the domains in the folder unless you choose to "Save and Apply to All Domains". To move a domain into a smart folder, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "Manage Domains" in the drop-down. Check the box next to the domain name(s) you wish to move and click on the "Folder" button. Select the destination folder from your list in the drop-down menu. Press the "Move" button to move the domains.
To set or change your default renew option for a smart folder, please follow these steps: Log into your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" then "Folders" from the left-side menu bar. Click on the link listed in the "Renew Options" column. Click on the dropdown and select your renew option. You can select "manual renewal," "auto-renew," or "do not renew." Then, click "Save". Note: the domain renew option you select will be applied to all the domains in that smart folder. You can also choose to "Auto Apply" these renew options to future domains that you move into that smart domain folder using the button. How do I create a smart folder? To set or change your default domain transfer lock settings for a smart folder, please follow these steps: Log into your Dynadot account. Select "My Domains" then "Folders" from the left-side menu bar. Click on the link listed in the "Transfer Lock" column. Once the page loads, select "Yes" if you want your domains to be locked by default. To save your settings, hit the "Save" button. Note: the domain transfer lock option you select will be applied to all the domains in that smart folder.
