  • How do I turn off Google Authenticator?

    Google Authenticator, along with your "Security PIN" and SMS Authenticator is a great way to add extra security to your account. This is why we recommend keeping it as a part of your account security. But, if you do want to remove Google Authenticator from your Dynadot account, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Click "My Info" from the left-side menu bar, then click "Security". Click Unlock Account. You will be required to enter a token code from your Google Authenticator app (as well as your "Security PIN" and SMS code if you also have this enabled). If you can't enter your token code, use the "Lost Cellphone" link for help. Once unlocked, please scroll down to the "Two-Factor Authentication" section. Click ellipsis icon at the upper right corner and find "Edit" button. For security concern, you will need to enter password before turning Google Aunthenticator off by clicking "Disable Google Authentication" button. We recommend relocking your account by clicking "Lock Account Now" at the top of the page when you are done. Note: This will not automatically remove your "Dynadot:username" account from your Google Authenticator app. To remove that, you will need to open the app and click on the pen icon at the top right-hand corner. Then, click on the red minus sign over your "Dynadot:username" account and click "Remove Account" to confirm its removal from the app. Please make sure you have already performed the steps above before removing it from the app.

  • How do I find my Google Authenticator serial number or key?

    To locate your Google Authenticator serial number or key, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Info" from the left-side menu bar and click "Security" in the drop-down. Verify your identity by entering your Security PIN as well as your Google Authenticator token code and/or your SMS code (if applicable). Press the "Unlock Account" button. Click on ellipsis icon behind "Authenticator App" section then hit "edit".   • How do I activate my SMS Authentication settings?

    SMS Authenticator, along with your "Security PIN" and Google Authenticator is a great way to add extra security to your account. This is why we recommend adding it as a part of your account security. To activate your SMS settings, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "Security" from the "My Info" drop-down menu. Scroll down to the "Two-Factor Authentication" section and click on "Manage Two-Factor Authentication" button on the right. Unlock your account on the pop-up page using your Security PIN. Click on the plus icon before SMS, and enter your cellphone number in the SMS pop up page(select the country code in the first box dropdown, fill in your phone number in the second box), and click "Set SMS Phone Number" button to save your cellphone number. Next, check the verify box. and wait for it to show as success. Click the "Get SMS Token" button to request a token. A 6-digit code will be sent to the cellphone number you have entered. Enter the SMS code in the "Enter Token" box. Click "Enable SMS" button to save your changes. You are not able to enable SMS is an incorrect code is provided. If the correct test code is entered, your SMS settings will be saved for your account.NOTE: Activating your SMS settings requires us to send at least 1 text message to your cellphone.   • How do I add Two-Factor Authenticator to my Dynadot account?

    Dynadot is excited to support the use of Two-Factor Authenticator as a part of our account security! Two-Factor Authenticator, along with your "Security PIN" and SMS Authenticator is a great way to add extra security to your account. To set up Two-Factor Authenticator with your Dynadot account, please follow these steps: Install Two-Factor Authenticator on your phone, like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy and Duo Mobile Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Info" from the left-side menu bar and click "Security" in the drop-down. Click "Manage Two-Factor Authentication". Verify yourself by entering Security PIN. (Submit forget Security PIN request if you lose it) Click on the plus icon and check Key number & the Key QR Code on the new pop-up. Open up the Two-Factor Authenticator app and click on the + sign to add your Dynadot account. You can either scan the barcode or enter the key manually. Once it's been successfully added, your Dynadot account will be listed as "Dynadot:username" in the app. Enter the token from the app where it says "Generate A Token" and then click "Enable Token." You have successfully added Two-Factor Authenticator to your Dynadot account. Make sure you click the "Lock Account Now" button once you are done to ensure your account safety.   • How do I activate my security key to my Dynadot account?

    Linking your Security key to your Dynadot account, along with your "Security PIN" and Google Authenticator is a great way to add extra security to your account. This is why we recommend adding it as a part of your account security. To activate your Security key, you will first need to purchase and register your physical security key on your computer. Each security key has its own steps. Please refer to the product guide and follow those steps. After you have registered your key, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "Security" from the "My Info" drop-down menu. Unlock your account using the button at the top of the page. Under "Two Factor Authentication", click on "Security Key". Insert the security key into your computer's port, or connect via your mobile device. Once you have connected please verify your key by touching the top of the key. Click on the "Enable Security Key" button to save your changes. Please note: Your browser may ask you to allow/enable permissions.

  • Help! I lost my cellphone or serial number! How do I change my Google Authenticator or SMS settings?

    If you lost your cellphone or cannot access your Google Authenticator app, you will need to get your settings reset. If you can not log in at all, On the login page, once you have entered your username and password, and the screen loads to the code page, you will see "Lost Cellphone" under that. Inside your account here is how to submit your reset request, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "Security" from the "My Info" drop-down menu. Click on "Unlock Account" button. Click on the "Lost Cellphone" link on the new page. Enter the answer to your secret question and provide any additional information below. Please note that your secret question must exactly match what you entered when you created it. Click on the "Submit Request" button to submit your request. A Dynadot team member will review your request before updating your Google Authenticator or SMS settings. We may contact you at your account email if we need you to provide additional information.

  • What is 2 step verification?

    Dynadot takes account security seriously. This is why we don't just rely on your username and password to ensure the security of your domains. In addition to the "Security PIN" you are required to enter, you can also set up 2 step verification to add another layer of security to your account.We offer the following security options that you can add to your account for 2 step verification:SMS Authentication: You will receive a verification code via text message that you must enter along with your "Security PIN" to unlock your account.Google Authenticator: This is a smartphone app that gives you a time sensitive verification code to enter along with your "Security PIN" to unlock your account.Security Key: This is a physical USB drive that connects with your devices, including computers and laptops, to prove identity to access specific resources on a network. Similar to an OTP(one-time password), a security key can be used to authenticate a user whenever they wish to access specific resources or need to log in to their accounts on a website or an application.If you want even more security for your account, you can use both the SMS authentication and Google Authenticator together. You will then be required to enter both along with your "Security PIN" to unlock your account.

  • Do I really have to enter my Google Authenticator token code or SMS code on every login?

    No, you don't. You can choose to either enter your code at every login or have our system remember your IP address and only enter the code when you're logging in from a new IP address.The default setting has a code entry at each login, but if you want to change it, you can do so by following these instructions: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Click "My Info" from the left-side menu bar, then click "Security". Click Unlock Account, verify your identity by entering your "Security PIN" as well as your Google Authenticator token code and/or your SMS code into the "Account Lock" area. Click the "Unlock Account" button. Scroll down to the "Authentication Settings" section. Here you can select either "Every Login (Most Secure)" or "Every New IP Address" and then click "Save" to save your changes. Haven't added this extra layer of security yet?   • How do I change my SMS settings?

    If you have already activated your account's SMS settings, and you need to edit your SMS settings, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "Security" from the "My Info" drop-down menu. Unlock your account using the button at the top of the page. Scroll down to the "Two-Factor Authentication" section and click on "Manage Two-Factor Authentication" button. Click on the three dots icon behind SMS settings and hit "Edit". Enter the password to confirm and click "Disable SMS" Click on the plus icon beside SMS section and hit the "Delete SMS Phone Number" button. Enter in your new cellphone number. Click on the "Set SMS Phone Number" button. Next, click on the "Get SMS Token" button. A 6-digit code will be sent to your cellphone number to ensure you have access to the cellphone number you entered. Enter in the SMS test code in the "Enter Token" box.
