Dynadot is one of the few registrars that supports domain tasting also know as grace deletions. Most domain extensions support grace deletions and most give you up to 118 grace hours to submit your grace deletion. You can see the amount of grace hours each domain extension offers on our Grace Deletion page. You can see the amount of grace hours left for your recent domain registrations by logging in to your Dynadot account and going to "New Domains" from the "My Domains" drop down. There you will see a table that lists your most recent domain registrations (from top to bottom) as well as the amount of grace hours left for each of those domains under the "Grace (hours)" column. If you are planning to grace delete your domain, you must do so within the grace hours given for that domain; however, some domain extensions also have a maximum rate of deletion, which limits the number of grace deletions relative to the number of registrations. For this reason, even if you submit your grace deletion request within the grace hours of your domain, there is no guarantee you will be able to successfully grace delete it. If you are successful in your grace deletion, you will receive a refund in account credit minus any deletion fee.Grace domain deletion may be useful, for example, if you misspelled the domain name you wanted to register or you decide that you want to register a different domain name.
We are one of the few registrars that supports grace deletion, also known as domain tasting, which allows registrants to "return" an unwanted domain name. This allows people to "taste" a domain by testing its traffic or simply seeing if it's the right fit for what they want.Although not all domain extensions allow grace deletions, many of our most popular domains - including .COM, .NET, and .ORG - do. Most domain extensions that allow grace deletions offer a grace period of 2-5 days; however, some extensions have a limit the amount of grace deletions to 10% of that domain's registrations that month. When we are at our max limit, additional grace deletions are placed on a wait list and are then processed if the limit dips below the max. This means that we cannot guarantee that a grace deletion submission will be successful.Learn how to submit a grace deletion request.See our grace deletion chart to see which domain extensions allow grace deletions, their grace period, their limit rate, and their current rate.

Dynadot is one of the few registrars that supports domain grace deletions; however, we can not guarantee that any domain will be able to be grace deleted. If your grace deletion request has not been processed, it is most likely because the domain is at its maximum rate (10%). This rate is based on how many domains we register per month versus the number of domains we grace delete per month. This rate is set by the domain's central registry and cannot be changed by us. When a domain is at its maximum rate, additional grace deletion requests are added to a wait list. As the rate adjusts, our system then process the wait list in the order received. Please note that some domain extensions do not have a maximum rate. This is noted on our grace deletion page by "no limit" under the maximum rate column. If the domain you're trying to grace delete does not have a maximum rate, then there could be an issue with your request and you should email us at [email protected].

In the case of .IM, the central registry sets the registration date to the start of the day. This means, if you register a domain towards the end of the day, you could lose some of your grace deletion hours.
