POP3 (Post Office Protocol version 3): This protocol is used for receiving emails from a mail server to your email client (like Outlook, Gmail, etc.).SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol): SMTP is used for sending emails from your email client to a mail server.IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol): IMAP is used for accessing emails stored on a mail server from multiple devices. Different email clients have their configurations; thus, it is first required to clarify which of the above settings should be set up and then retrieve the email settings.To access your POP3, SMTP, or IMAP settings in the Pro version of our email service, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My Emails" from the left-side menu bar. Select "Sign In". A new page should load in a new browser window. Choose the email account you want under the Mailboxes section, located in the bottom left corner of the screen. Click on the Gear icon (General Settings) at the top of the left-side menu bar. Look for the "Remote Access" box. To enable POP or IMAP access, toggle "Remote Access Enabled" on. Press the "Save" button to save your changes. Now this email account can be accessed by POP, SMTP, or IMAP. In order to complete the configuration also please make sure that "Remote access" is enabled. To set up your Pro Email to work with Gmail, please follow these steps: Log into your Gmail account. Click the gear icon on the top-right side of the page. Select "See all settings" from the drop-down menu. Click on the "Accounts and Imports" tab. Under the "Check mail from other accounts:" section, click the "Add a mail account" button. When the box pops up, enter your email address and click the "Next" button. Confirm that Gmailify is not available for this provider and press the "Next" button. Google will now ask for a username/password and POP settings. You can retrieve this information under your POP3/SMTP settings in your Email Hosting web space. IMPORTANT: Your username is ALWAYS the Full email address. Enter webhost.dynadot.com as the POP server. Change the port to 995. Check the "Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail" option, and then click the "Add Account" button, and you will then be able to receive emails through Gmail. Gmail will then ask if you would like to send from this address as well. Select "Yes" and press the "Next" button. You will see another confirmation screen. Skip to the next step by pressing the "Next Step" button. The SMTP server should read webhost.dynadot.com.The SMTP server port should be 587. The "Secured connection using TLS" option should be selected by default. If not, please choose that option. Click on the "Add Account" button to save your changes. Next, gmail will ask you to verify the new address using a confirmation code or link. Once verified, you will be able to access your Dynadot email through your existing gmail account! To set up your email with your Email plan in Microsoft Outlook, please follow these steps: Retrieve your POP3, SMTP and/or IMAP settings Open Outlook and enter your email address. Then click Continue button to go to the Add Account page. For Incoming, select your preferred type (POP/IMAP). And enter the IMAP/POP password. Enable "Show Advanced Settings" toggle. The IMAP Incoming Server should be "webhost.dynadot.com". The port should be 995 for POP and 993 for IMAP. Make sure the 'Use SSL to connect (recommended)' option is selected. Enter the SMTP Username and password. Under 'SMTP Outgoing Server' enter 'webhost.dynadot.com' as your server and '587' as the port. From the ssl dropdown menu, select the 'STARTTLS' option. Hit the 'Add Account' button to complete your set-up. To set up your Email with your iPhone, please follow these steps:First, you should retrieve your POP3 and SMTP settings in your Email account. Find and tap the "Settings" app on your iPhone. Tap "Mail". Tap "Accounts" and choose "Add Account". On the "Add Account" page, choose "Other" and then choose "Add Mail Account". Enter the Name, Email, Password, and Description (it should show an example) and then hit the "Next" button. At the very top, choose either POP or IMAP. Enter the Incoming Mail Server host name, username, and password. Enter the Outgoing Mail Server host name, username, and password. While your phone lists this information as "Optional", it is needed for your Dynadot email to work. Press the "Save" button. Once the settings are finished verifying, you should be able to send and receive email on your iPhone. You can also delete email directly from your iPhone. To set up your Email in Thunderbird, please follow these steps: Retrieve your POP3 and SMTP settings. Do not forget to enable remote access. Open Thunderbird and it will take you to the Account Setup page. Enter your name, email address and password. Then, press "Continue." For Incoming, select your preferred type (POP or IMAP) The server hostname should be "webhost.dynadot.com" The port should be 995 for POP and 993 for IMAP. For SSL, choose "SSL/TLS." Authentication should be "Normal Password.". The username should be your full email address. The Outgoing setting should already be set to "SMTP." The hostname should be "webhost.dynadot.com" The port is 587. For SSL, choose "STARTTLS." Authentication should be "Normal Password.". The username should be your full email address. Press "Done." To set up your Email plan in Mac Mail, please follow these steps: Retrieve your POP3 and SMTP settings. Do not forget to enable remote access. Open up your Mac Mail program. Select the option to Add Other Mail Account and press the "Continue" button. Enter in your name, email address and password and press the sign in button. A new page will pop up and remind you to enter your domain email settings. Select either "POP" of "IMAP" and enter your details as shown below. The press the "Sign in" button. You may get the "Unable to verify account name or password." notice if you set it up for the first time and you could try again to sign in. The Mac mail will ask you to choose the application you want to use for this email address, you could choose the application(s) and then click "done" button. Our Email plan allows you to set you your email on almost any platform.If you do NOT have email currently set up on your Android phone, please follow these steps: On your phone's home screen, touch the email app icon. Enter in your username (full email address) and password. Hit 'Manual Setup' at the bottom. Choose either "POP3" or "IMAP" option. Enter your username and password information again when prompted. Enter in the 'Incoming Server' details as shown below. The server hostname should be "webhost.dynadot.com" the security type "SSL" and the port 995 for POP3 or 993 for IMAP. Enter in the 'Outgoing Server' details as shown below. The server hostname should be "webhost.dynadot.com" the security type "SSL" and the port 587. Touch Next. Choose your email sync setting. Touch Done. Incoming ServerOutgoing ServerNOTE: If you already have an email account set up on your Android phone, you'll need to open up your inbox and navigate to the "Add Account" section from there. Please kindly note that different brands may have varying steps when it comes to Android phones. It might be helpful to adjust the steps slightly based on your specific brand.You may receive a connection error on one of the setup screens. If this happens, please double check that all of your settings were entered correctly. To set up your Email plan with your iPad, please follow these steps:First, you should retrieve your POP3 and SMTP settings in your Email Hosting account. Find and tap the "Settings" app on your iPad. If you want your email to be deleted from your Email plan without logging into your Dynadot account, you can change your settings on the iPhone. Please follow these steps: Go to the "Settings" application on the iPhone. Click on the "Mail" option. Click on "Accounts" option and then choose and click on your mail account. Scroll down towards the bottom and click on the "Advanced" button. Under the "MOVE DISCARDED MESSAGES INTO:" section, you could choose where you want to move your discarded messages to. The default option is "Deleted Mailbox" and you could also choose "Archive Mailbox". Under the "DELETED MESSAGES" section, you could choose the messages to be removed in a certain period. The default is "After one week" but you can choose "Never", "After one day" or "After one month". Exit out of "Advanced" and go back to your email account. You may have multiple email accounts set up on your Droid. If so, the Droid will send an email using the "default" account. You can change which account is the default by following these steps: On the Droid home screen, touch the applications tab (at the bottom of the screen). Touch Email. Touch Menu (icon at the bottom of the phone). Touch Accounts. All of your email accounts should be displayed here. If not, please touch Return (icon at the bottom of the phone). If the account has a checkbox next to it, this means it is the default. If you would like to change your default email, touch and hold the account that you would like to be the default. Scroll down and touch Account settings. Touch the checkbox for Default account. Your emails should be sent from this account from now on. If you do not want to change your default email account, you can still send from an account that is not the default by following these steps: On the Droid home screen, touch the applications tab (at the bottom of the screen). Touch Email. Touch Menu (icon at the bottom of the phone). Touch Accounts. All of your email accounts should be displayed here. If not, please touch Return (icon at the bottom of the phone). Touch and hold the account that you would like to send from. Touch Compose. The From address should be from the account you chose.
